MagieVision is the creative practice of Magie McGowan (formerly Serpica), a multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, muralist, educator, and tattooer.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Magie studied Illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology and has spent more than twenty-five years working as a professional tattoo artist. As one of the early female tattooers on Staten Island, she built a career rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling, and a lifelong dedication to making art, and does so now in the town she currently calls home, Maplewood, NJ.

While tattooing remains her primary medium, her creative work extends far beyond skin. From murals and paintings to illustration, public art, community projects, music, DJ’ing, Performance art, and education, Magie is driven by a curiosity that refuses to stay within a single discipline. Her work is influenced by New York City’s creative energy, nature, folk traditions, and the belief that art should be accessible, meaningful, and deeply human.

MagieVision serves as a home for these varied pursuits—a place where decades of artistic experience come together across mediums, projects, and collaborations.
